Tool and Die Maker with focus on maintenance repairs

Tasks:

  • Verify dimensions, alignments, and clearances of finished parts for conformance to specifications, using measuring instruments such as calipers, gauge blocks, micrometers, or dial indicators

  • Fit and assemble parts to make, repair, or modify dies

  • Set up and operate our stamping presses

Knowledge:

  • Mechanical – Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance

  • Production and Processing – Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods

Skills:

  • Operation and Control – Controlling operations of equipment or systems

  • Operation Monitoring – Watching gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly

  • Quality Control Analysis – Conducting tests and inspections of products, services, or processes to evaluate quality

Work activities:

  • Controlling Machines and Processes – Using either control mechanisms or direct physical activity to operate machines

  • Inspecting Equipment or Material – Inspecting equipment or materials to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects

  • Repairing and Maintaining stamping tools – Servicing, repairing, adjusting, and testing stamping tools

Working hours:

  • Day shift

 


Press Operator

Tasks:

  • Examine completed workpieces for defects, such as chipped edges or marred surfaces and sort defective pieces according to types of flaws

  • Measure completed workpieces to verify conformance to specifications, using micrometers, gauges, calipers, templates, or rulers

  • Start machines, monitor their operations, and record operational data

  • Place produced parts in delivery packages

  • Operate forklifts

Knowledge:

  • Mechanical – Knowledge of machines and tools,

  • Production and Processing – Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
